Climate Action Plan 2025
The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment ("DCEE") publishes its Climate Action Plan 2025 ("CAP 25"), detailing the roadmap to Ireland’s goal of transitioning to a sustainable, climate neutral and biodiverse-rich climate by 2050.
CAP 25 updates the previous year’s plan to halve Ireland’s carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050 under the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021.
Consultation on Electricity Connection Charging and Rebating Reform
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities ("CRU") publishes a Consultation Paper on Electricity Connection Policy in respect of charging and rebating methodologies for transmission customers, in connection with its Electricity Connection Policy – Generation & System Services Decision Paper published in September 2024.
This consultation considers streamlined charging models, rebate methodologies, cost of transmission system operator / transmission asset owner oversight time and payment schedules.
