Proposed Decision on Data Centre Connections
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities ("CRU") issues a proposed decision on the Large Energy Users ("LEUs") connection policy.
The proposed decision is limited to data centres that are seeking to connect to the electricity grid. The proposed decision seeks feedback on whether a minimum level of Maximum Import Capacity should be set and if mandatory dispatchable generation or storage to the network (which will remove Mandatory Demand Curtailment provisions) for data centres and new discretionary ‘demand flexibility’ powers to the system operators should be introduced.
