RESS 5 Auction Schedule and Terms Published
The terms and conditions for the fifth auction under the renewable electricity support scheme (RESS 5) are published and approved by the Irish Government with the auction running in September 2025, leading to results in October 2025 and securing over 1GW of renewable capacity.
Net Zero Industry Act Implementation
The European Commission adopts implementing regulation (C(2025)2900) to further define the pre-qualification and award non-price criteria applicable to Member State auctions for the deployment of energy from renewable sources, pursuant to the Net-Zero Industry Act ("NZIA").
Such criteria include responsible business conduct, cybersecurity and data security, ability to deliver the project in a timely manner, resilience contribution in respect of the security of their supply chain for key component and sustainability contributions.
Auctions under the NZIA will begin in 2026 and potential bidders should consider these criteria closely.
