Facilitating Excellence.
Explore the various ways that the Digital Services Group helps facilitate the ongoing excellence of our lawyers.
Building the best legal technology stack for our teams.
The Digital Services Group at Matheson is tasked with ensuring that our lawyers and business professionals have the best possible suite of tools available in order to ensure that we always deliver excellence for our clients.
Our multi-disciplinary team works to ensure that we are continually up to speed with the latest developments in legal technology, operations and delivery via our ongoing research, testing and development.
We utilise design-led development to ensure that our solutions are constructed with our lawyers and clients specifically in mind. Watch Colleen Robinson, Senior Development & Automation Manager, and Ryan Kelly, Lead Software Developer, discuss our approach.
Our Client Service Charter.
The Client Service Charter is a comprehensive set of principles which embody our dedication to client service excellence.
We are committed to delivering exceptional experiences for our clients, and the Client Service Charter underlines that commitment, guiding how we approach our work and relationships. The DSG at Matheson ensure that our lawyers and business services professionals have the right technology stack to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the Client Service Charter.
Additionally, the Digital Services Group is committed to maintaining the highest standards required by the Client Service Charter, whether we are delivering services to our colleagues within Matheson, or directly to our clients as part of our managed services offering.
Award Winning Software Development.
With an experienced team of software and SharePoint developers including specialisation in application development, integrations and UX design, we build solutions that are tailored to the needs of our colleagues and our clients.
Our software is developed for a wide range of use cases and is scoped, built, tested and deployed using our own version of design methodology based on ensuring that the end product is highly functional, adaptable and upgradeable, whilst also ensuring that the user experience is as intuitive and enjoyable as possible.
We typically collaborate closely with Matheson lawyers and business services professionals to develop and deploy specific solutions. One such recent solution, the CarbonCal application, designed by our Environmental Sustainability Group and developed by Digital Services, won the NetZero Award at the Business and Finance Awards in 2023.
Clever Automation.
If one of the main aims of legal technology and innovation is to drive efficiencies in the delivery of legal services, then automation is one of the core strategies to achieve that goal.
A well automated document or process can significantly reduce the amount of time that it takes to complete a task. If the system for automation has been well configured it will be possible to easily obtain metrics over a period of time in terms of what documents have been automated allowing for data-driven decision making at a departmental level.
The Document Automation team within the Matheson Digital Services Group draws on considerable experience working on legal documents over the course of the last forty years. We have automated significant and complex document sets, utilising one of the most thoughtfully developed document automation platforms available at this time.
We offer document automation services both internally, and also directly to our clients.
Thoughtful Training and Support.
Having cutting-edge legal technology at your disposal is undoubtedly a benefit, but if you are really able to use the full range of features included within that technology then that benefit turns into an advantage.
The Digital Services Group includes a dedicated Application Training and Support function, enabling our lawyers and business services teams to extract maximum benefit from our investment in legal technology and innovation.
We facilitate specialist training, ongoing workshops and support across a wide range of legal technologies. Our IT Training specialists are qualified and experienced in the delivery of IT-specific training courses, working diligently to provide syllabi, course materials and follow-up documentation.
